The #FSSO bids farewell to the loyal and longest serving staff member Ella Kotze, who served the orchestra diligently for over 15 years as Administrator and Organizing Officer. We wish her all the best for her future endeavors, it was a great pleasure to have worked with such a beautiful, caring and humble soul, who was the heart of the #FSSO. Ella will be missed dearly by the board, management, friends, patrons, orchestra members and classical music community for her invaluable contribution and selfless service over the years.

Experience the magic of nature and the beauty of jazz and classical music at SANParks exclusive second annual #GoldenClassics2018 taking place at the Golden Gate Highlands National Park from 30 November - 2 December 2018. The FSSO performs with soloists Aubrey M Lodewyk (baritone), Caroline Nkwe (soprano), and the formidable Gauteng Opera on December 1st, under the baton of Kutlwano Masote. Looking back at #TheMerryWidow' production which was the result of an amazing and unique collaborative spirit between the #FSSO and the Odeion School of Music OSM, UFS. The production was a South African adaptation of this famous operetta which highlighted and celebrates our own cultural norms and customs, simultaneously encapsulating the spirit of Ubuntu throughout the performing arts. #Music #Education #Development

Once again the Dar Choral Society presents MOZART Great Mass in C-minor which FSSO concert master Samson Diamond and violinists; Bonolo Kgaile, Sehle Amelia Mosole, Tsholofelo Tshikare , Sisa Mgauli, together with John Pakz Minnaar (cello), Xavier Clinton Cloete (bassoon) and Jonalene Taylor (bass) will be performing in. The concert takes place Sunday, November 25th 2018 from 6:30pm at the Julius Nyerere International Conference Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The concert will be conducted by Hekima Raymond and St.Kizito-Makuburi is the chorus for the evening.
