The huge intake of vocal students after the introduction of our certificate and diploma programme, as well as the avid interest these students have shown for the vocal arts, has prompted us to produce an operetta to create an opportunity for a public performance.
Vocal students who love opera / operettas enjoy being on stage, and for a vocal lecturer, who sees it as a mission to bring international expertise back to South Africa, this is more than enough reason to invest in a vocal production.
The universal art of music making creates a platform to unite students from various backgrounds where professional singers, an acclaimed director, a choreographer, a conductor and full orchestra converge to give students a hands-on experience on stage and in the orchestra. This is the ideal scenario for an exceptional educational experience.
This would not have been possible without the foresight of our partnership with the FSSO. They embraced our vision and kindly provided the orchestra. Our main sponsors, Standard Bank and the Arts Trusts, as well as several smaller sponsorships, made this project feasible. Thank you for you vote of confidence.
