Qden (13) started playing piano 5 years ago and showed an interest in classical music from an early age. Under the guidance of Shane Goodall (Hugo Lambrechts Music Centre), he has won many awards over the past two years. At the 2016 SAMRO Hubert van der Spuy National Music Competition he shared the first prize with Leo Gevisser and won several category prizes.

In 2016, he was also one of ten children (and the first from Africa) selected from more than 500 applicants worldwide to attend the prestigious Allianz Music Camp in Warsaw, Poland last November where he received a master class from acclaimed pianist, Lang Lang.

In March 2017 he performed in a lunch time concert with the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra. In May 2017 he was a soloist at the Suidoosterfees and in June 2017 he appeared with the Johannesburg Symphony Orchestra as a soloist in the JSO concerto festival. In July, he also performed at the Gala evening at the International Insurance Conference at Sun City.

Come witness the young virtuoso flying on the keys at the Youth Concerto Festival on Saturday, 2 September.

Hope you have your tickets!
